Chronic Pain?
I have been suffering from chronic pain for three years, and I’m only 16. Right now the doctors are looking at Fibromyalgia and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, though they aren’t very confident in what they might find. I’ve already had three b.lood tests, an X-ray, and an MRI. I still have yet to get another b.lood test, another X-ray, and a sleep study. I’ve also been researching lyme disease.
My symptoms include:
-Fatigue
-Headaches (tension and migrane)
-Muscle and joint pain
-Especially…. Back pain
-Shoulder pain
-Neck pain
-Swollen glands
-Depression
-Memory loss
-Loose joints
-Hyper-flexability
-EXTREMELY overly sensitive skin (I bruise from mosquito bites even when I don’t scratch.)
-Insomnia
-Unrestorative sleep (when I do sleep, even if it’s for 10 hours.)
-Bowel problems
-Stomach pain
-Bladder problems
-Weak muscles
-Knees sponteneously give out
-Under weight (even though I eat TONS)
-Twitching in upper body (and face on rare occasion)
-Restless legs
-Tremor
…help?

Could well be Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which is marked by weak connective tissue. That could affect your posture and the way your skeleton is put together. You should ask your doctor for a referral to a real good physical therapist who can work with you on musculoskeletal issues.
Good luck and try to keep a positive outlook.
I can’t help you about the symptoms but I can give you advice. I got no help from the Dr’s for my chronic pain and some of them thought I was faking. I was on workers comp at the time. Well anyway after I settled the workers comp claim I was free to go to the Dr. I wanted, not the ones they wanted me to. My in laws advised to go to a anesthesiologist with private practice and I did. With in 2 months I was able to go back to work. If I had known that I would have said to he ll with workers comp. A pain clinic may help too.
You definitely sound like you have a lot going on. RLS and twitching, I was having, and I take muscle relaxers for that. Sounds like you have some IBS in there too. Swollen glands might be an indication of Epstein-barre Syndrome, blood test can check that, and have them check your thyroid too. CFS and Fibromyalgia walk hand in hand a lot of times. I have that too. You are having problems sleeping so much because you are in pain and therefore is not restorative sleep. Have they prescribed you any medication at all? I am taking pain relievers, muscle relaxers, and anti-depressants. Occasionally, I take a sleeping pill also.
Try to relax, because being tense just makes it hurt worse. I know that is hard sometimes..
Hope this helps some. Good luck.
sounds like fibromyalgia to me. I’ve had it 20 plus years and was tested for everything. Once you get a solid answer from the doctors, and if it is fibromyalgia go to the book store and buy “inside fibromyalgia” by mark J. Pellegrino md and scan all the other books on the topic. find out all you can and don’t believe all the claims of cures. There are a lot of people looking to make money off people like us who get desparate for pain relief. I hope you have a treatable/ cureable illness.
